Half of February is gone already and I haven’t posted a review in ages. Or a Follow-Up Friday, What’s Inside Wednesday, or anything, and that’s my bad for neglecting my blog. I have a few products that I’m playing with at the moment, so there will be more reviews soon, but for now I’m going to tell you about Sliquid Organics gel, my new favorite water-based lube. Sorry, Blossom Organics.

Many months ago I ordered some Sliquid Organics Gel from EdenFantasys. I think I had like $12 left on a gift card to use up or something, and it’s always good to have a spare bottle of lube around. Plus, I tend to have good luck with Sliquid lubes. So far I’ve tried H2O, Sassy Booty, Oceanics, the Babelube Natural they make for Babeland.

Of those, I liked the Oceanics best, with the Babelube Natural being a close second. Sliquid H20 is a fine lube, but it dried up too quickly and required frequent reapplication. Sassy Booty was a nice thick gel, but it also dried out rather quickly. Plus, it contained Polyquat 007 and DMDM Hydantoin, questionable preservatives which aren’t in other Sliquid lubes.

Sliquid Organic’s ingredients are very similar to those of Oceanics, without the seaweed, and Babelube Natural, without the carrageen.

• Purified water, it is water-based lube after all.
• Plant cellulose (from cotton, if anyone is wondering), to give the lube its lovely gel consistency.
• Aloe barbadensis, aka aloe vera which soothes and moisturizes skin.
• Natural tocopherols (vitamin E), also good for skin, but I can’t remember why.
• Cyamopsis (guar conditioners), a stabilizing and “viscosity increasing agent.”
• Extracts of hibiscus, flax, green tea, and sunflower seed
• Potassium sorbate, because there has to be a little preservative in there somewhere.
• Citric acid, for chelation and also to help preserve.

I prefer gel lubes because they are thick enough to stay put, and typically for me they last a little longer than lubes with thinner consistencies. But if the gel is too thick, it’s a pain to dispense and tends to clog up the bottle opening (I only had this issue with the Babelube Natural).

Sliquid Organics works really well for me, better than any of the other Sliquid lubes I’ve tried. It not only stays slick, it’s just the right viscosity, has no smell or taste, and comes in a flip-top bottle. Okay, I’d rather it come in a pump-top bottle, but at least it’s not in a tube with a screw-off lid.

Oh, and as with other Sliquid lubes, Organics is discreetly packaged. The labels are classy, and the darker bottles look like any typical cosmetic or self care product. It’s also vegan-friendly and made in the USA.

I’ve done some price comparisons on this lube, and it would appear Lovehoney.com has the best deal on the the small bottle (4.2 oz/125ml) at $13.99. They also sell the large size (8.5oz/255ml) for $19.99. Lovehoney currently has some sales and promotions going on that are worth checking out, and they seem to have a good deal on shipping, too.

EdenFantasys has the same price on Sliquid Organics in the larger bottle at $19.99, but their price on the smaller size is $14.99. They just posted some new promotions, and you get free shipping on orders of $35 or more.
